Biography

A performer for most of her life, Laura began training as a classical musician at age eight. At ten she also joined her primary school's drama club and declared to her parents that she wanted to be an actress.

"You'll grow out of it," her parents said.

She never did. Throughout her school career, Laura was incredibly active in school and local theatre. Initially focusing on musical theatre, Laura trained with singing teacher Beth Falcone for several years. She then began to expand her theatrical experience into drama, classical theatre, and devising.

After graduating high school in 2000, Laura moved to New York City where she was awarded a place on the BA Acting course at Marymount Manhattan College. Whilst in training, Laura also performed regularly in New York City theatre.

After completing her BA, which focused primarily on contemporary theatre, Laura moved to Exeter, UK after applying for and accepting a place on the MFA Shakespearean Acting course at the University of Exeter. Whilst in this highly practical course, Laura honed her classical theatre technique. As part of her MFA, she had placements at Shakespeare's Globe and The Royal Shakespeare Company. She completed her MFA with Merit in August 2006.

Laura moved to London after completing her MFA and has worked regularly in many genres of performance. Applying the diverse techniques acquired whilst training, Laura has worked in theatre, interactive theatre and performance, film, voice over, TIE and pantomime.

Laura has recently begun to explore additional creative outlets. She is currently writing her first full-length play and is a keen photographer. She also directs and coaches actors on Shakespeare audition pieces.
